Short-Circuit Analysis

Overview

ATPDesigner Short Circuit Results displayed using Tooltips
The network simulation program ATP is able to process a stationary analysis of the electrical power network, which can be also called Phasor Solution. The aim of a stationary network analysis is the calculation of the complex phasors of voltages Vpg and Vpp and currents Ip of all nodes of the power network, in addition apparent power S, active power P and reactive power Q. The results of the stationary analysis of the electrical power network are the results of the ATP Steady State Analysis according the ATP Rule Book.

ATPDesigner uses the ATP to execute the Steady State Analysis, reads the results out of the  report file, analyzes the results of the Steady State Analysis and displays these results as Short Circuit Analysis Results as well using a spread sheet as using the tooltip technology "at the tip of the mouse cursor".  ATPDesigner reads the .LST-File and tries to identify the voltages and currents which correspond to the network elements used in the power network. Therefore not 100% of the calculated Steady State Analysis data saved into the .LST-File will be presented by the Short Circuit Analysis Results, but only a subset of those, which correspond to the nodes of the network elements of the power network.
