Power Grids and Protection Relays

ATPDesigner - Funktionsumfang

The range of functions of ATPDesigner is described in the manuals. Here is a brief overview of the scope of functions:

  •  Planning and inspection of power grids with the typical operating equipment such as transformers and lines.
  •  Network condition analysis and network condition assessment
  •  Calculation of the steady-state network condition on the basis of complex AC calculation
  •  Display of the measured values in tooltips or as text on the operating equipment in the network graphic
  •  Calculation of schedules and load profiles with load profiles and forecasts, evaluation of resource utilisation, e.g. according to a traffic light concept.
  •  Calculation of network losses and network utilisation analyses
  •  Short-circuit current calculation based on VDE 0102 (IEC 60909)
  •  Mains protection technology and selective protection analyses
  • Calculation of dynamic network processes1 in power networks, calculation of the time courses of voltages and currents at any network nodes, presentation of the calculated time courses of voltages and currents in diagrams.
  • Analysis of the time courses with the aid of the Discrete Fourier Transformation (DFT) and calculation of the complex pointers, effective value calculation.
  • Display of the complex pointers in list form or as a pointer diagram.
  • Import and export of the time histories of voltages, currents, etc. as column-oriented text files or in text files according to the COMTRADE format as a universal interface to other analysis systems.
  • Simulation of grid protection functions in extra-high, high, medium and low-voltage grids.
  • Analysis of the reactions of the network protection functions

Network Planning, Network Condition Analysis, Network Condition Assessment

  • N-1 Network condition analysis
  • Identification of the electrical supply area
  • Load flow calculation with load profiles and forecasts (time series calculation)
  • Measured value scaled load flow calculation
  • E-Mobility: utilisation analysis of resources
