Compatibility to ATP

As usual and well known from the area of engineering software, several ATP release will be launched each year. In addition to this continuously growing number of releases, two different EXE-files of the ATP will be compiled for Windows OS: the MingW32 Version and the Watcom Version. Unfortunately both ATP versions MingW32 and Watcom have some special features e.g. regarding the command line or the format of the .PL4-files. Therefore new ATP releases must be tested regarding the compatibility to ATPDesigner. The ATP release can be easily identified. The header information stored in the .LST-file contains the Source Code Date as shown below. This source code date can be used to identify ATP releases.

General Recommendations

Users of ATPDesigner shall follow this general recommendations.

  • MingW32 releases (standard or atpfast) of the ATP C-like .PL4-format

  • Important setting in the ATP file startup
  • NEWPL4 = 0: GNU-format of the .PL4-file
  • NEWPL4 = 1: Watcom-format of the .PL4-file
  • NEWPL4 = 2: PISA-format of the .PL4-file

ATPDesigner supports GNU-, Watcom- and PISA-format (NEWPL4 = 0 or NEWPL4 = 1 or NEWPL4 = 2).

Notes

Notes
The value KOMPAR of the ATP startup file controls whether the source code date will be written into the .LST-file or not. A value of KOMPAR = 4 disables the source code date, KOMPAR = 0 enables it.
